Congratulations to the winners of the Team APL WSOP Satellite - Tweed Heads!
Emma Grace took the event out, becoming the first female representative of TeamAPL who will take on the best of the best at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas next year!
Sam Longden and Jason Bradtke finished in 2nd and 3rd respectively, earning their way into the Wild Turkey Poker Classic, which will boast an estimated prize pool of $500,000 when it is contested at Melbourne's Crown Entertainment Complex in February next year!
252 players took part in the event which was hosted by South Tweed Sports and commenced at 11:00am on Sunday 14th December.
Players from Victoria to Noosa battled the day out in fine poker spirit with Luke Pringle unluckily bursting the bubble, taking us down to our final 8.
The final table was made up of players from various regions.
David Stewart from Victoria finished 8th, with our youngest player of the day James "Morgz" Morgan from Tweed Heads placing 7th.
6th place was filled by Geoff Milner, Jason Brander in 5th & Steve Webster 4th taking the satellite tickets to the 'Tweed Pro Challenge' scheduled for January 11th.
Jason Bradtke finished in 3rd taking direct entry into the Wild Turkey Poker Classic on February 14th at Crown Casino as his prize.
Players and spectators enjoyed the hype of final table with great support and enthusiasm.
Play tightened up dramatically, as the blinds reached 100,000/200,000.
It came down heads up between young Sam Longden turning over K5 and Emma Grace flipping her A7.
With a run out board of 4c,7c,Ac,8s,Jd, APL commenced the induction process, welcoming it's first female representative to TeamAPL.
Emma Grace claimed the trophy on the day and will now be given the opportunity to live out her poker dream at the 2009 World Series of Poker!!
Emma grinded the whole day with strength, patience and of course a bit of luck!
