APL 'Plays for a Cure' in support of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy!

It truly was a sight to behold as 500 enthusiastic and compassionate card sharks, budding enthusiasts and poker novices streamed through the doors of Revesby Workers Club last Thursday 24 April to lend a 'hand', and play for a cure.

APL's Charity Poker Event in support of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy seemed to attract individuals from all walks of life, from all over Sydney and even outside of NSW, to bring together a charity-conscious community dedicated to solving one of life's most puzzling riddles.

Amongst a crowd of celebrities in attendance were rugby league stars Craig Wing, Mark Coyne, Mark Riddel and Nathan Cayless, former league star and boxing great Anthony Mundine as well as Mario Fenech!

Home and Away castmembers Ada Nicodemou and Paul O'Brien also took to the tables to show their support!

Over the course of the night, APL and its members worked together to raise almost $42,000 for the Institute for Neuromuscular Research at The Children's Hospital Westmead to go towards the search for a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy!
