The Australian Poker League will be holding a free beginner's only day at North Ballarat Sports Club on Sunday 19th October, to celebrate the rising popularity of Poker in Australia. The event will celebrate an exciting year for the free poker league, as it saw it's member base grow to nearly 400,000 members nationally.
"We see plenty of new players come through the APL every week and our regulars are fantastic in helping them along with their poker game", says Mark Thomas, APL's Ballarat Frachisee. "The beginner's day is about helping new and interested players to learn, enjoy the game and make some new friends".
The completely free event will feature instructions on how to play poker, strategy tips and direction, and plenty of involvement from staff to help will all aspects of the game. New players will learn about betting amounts and hand rankings, and there will even be a special guest speaker giving their story on how their poker game began and developed.
"By the end of the day our new players will know the basics of the game and should definitely feel comfortable playing a real game of poker, and they will have had a lot of fun along the way", says Mark Thomas.
"Our main goal for this event is to help people learn the game while having as much fun as possible. At the end of the day our members value the APL community and the social aspect very highly and that's as important to us as the game itself".
The event will be held at the friendly Ballarat Sports Club on Sunday 19th October at 2pm. There are fantastic meals on offer in the bistro and a large range of beverages to suit everyone's needs.
Prospective players that attend will be given free membership to the APL and a free learn to play poker pack. There will be prize giveaways all throughout the day.
With the APL giving out over 10 million in cash and prizes last year, right now is a fantastic time to get involved with the free poker provider whose popularity is continuing to grow.
