As you have
seen, the APL has made many changes lately, and we are still catching up on
updating the website. It is a very big job, and it is taking a lot longer than
expected. When the website was initially built, the phenomenal growth that we
have experienced meant we were always just hanging on by our fingertips with
regards to updating the website. New additions were patched on, and while the
front end may have looked great to you guys, the back end has become a monster
that is nearly impossible to administer. That is why we are re building the
website from the ground up. We want to make things as fast and attractive as
possible for our members. We know your time is important to you, so we want to
make sure the new site is as easy to use as possible. We also want to make sure
the website is very stable as we hate the website being down as much as you do.
Over the next few weeks you will start to see the old website disappear piece by
piece as we bring each new function to its place on the new website.
We know some
of the information shown on the current site is out of date and removing that
information is one of our highest priorities. I have outlined some of the major
changes below, and where to find the new information.
2)Leader Board Prizes – these haven’t been
forgotten, and all prizes will be back dated to July 1.
3)FPP’s – Although we are taking away the
FPP’s, we will keep the FPP store open for a reasonable amount of time for you
to redeem the points.
4)Keep an eye on your regional home pages
for region specific information.
5)Contact us if there are any other issues
you are confused about – the best way is to email us at info@playapl.com , we sometimes miss
questions placed on the forum .
6)APL Online – events are starting ½ an
hour earlier now – at 10:30 pm. We had feedback that the events were running too
late for those people making it through to the later stages of the
tournaments.
