NOVACASTRIAN TAKES OUT NSW FULLTILTPOKER.ORG STATE TITLE!

Penrith RSL set the scene for the inaugral FullTiltPoker.Org State Finals powered by APL!
Doors to the club opened at 9:30 am and players flooded to the lobby to get registered.
The first heat started at 12pm am with 244 eager players awaiting the start, it was announced by the Stephen (TD) that there would be 16 APL Poker Classic Seats and that the top 16 players would share in a $20,000 cash prize pool.
Now there was a buzz around the room, the first heat coming to a dramatic close after just 2hrs as the top 120 players gave themselves a round of applause.
2:30pm saw the start of the next heat with 244 players seated for this heat bringing the tournament to a grand total of 488 runners. The word was out about the 16 WTPC seats and seemed to be all anyone could talk about,with the Poker Classic recentley announced to be held at Crown Entertainment Complex, Melbourne in February 2009.
All players the had a good 30minute break between the second heat and the final session to gather their thoughts and game plans for the final event.
4:30pm saw the start of the final round, and with the blinds still at 300/600 for the first 4minutes, most players had the chance to play some decent poker and set themselves up for the final stages of the tournament.
Slowly we moved through the night with some exciting action,
In just over 3 hours we had our top 24 players, Now it was who wanted the to get to Crown the most.
As players from all over the state continued to make calculated calls, fast folds and brave bets, the field was eventually reduced to just 16 runners.
The final table saw some fantastic poker played after Sasha Skalryd was eliminated on the bubble after moving all in . She was called by John with and the flop had fallen . John had leapt out ahead with the next two cards coming , to provide no assistance to Sasha.
Two hours later we were heads up with Mick Doumani and Dayle Munro. Munro from Newcastle raised to 300k with only to be called by Mick with . After the flop Mick pushes all in, Dayle snap calls and turns over his , Dayle had hit a set on the flop and managed to have his hand hold up long enough to deliver him the State Title.
