Congratulations to Lecia McKelvie who has been announced as the APL POTM for July 2008, and has secured herself a $10,000 prize package including entry into the Wild Turkey Poker Classic hosted by APL, which is scheduled to take place on February 14 & 15th 2009!
Lecia was also our Player of the Week for Week One of July - which means she now has TWO tickets into the Poker Classic! Lecia was kind enough to donate her second ticket to friend Bruce Gordon, who also finished 3rd in the POTM standings, earning a cool $3000 in cash!
Lecia is 48 and plays in the QBE region in Queensland. She has been into poker since her father first taught her when she was only 5 years of age! Lecia plays APL with friends and her favourite hand is pocket Kings!
Lecia was over the moon upon winning the POTM title and says she can't wait to play in the Poker Classic after falling short of qualifying for this year's TOC. Her family is extremely proud, and Lecia says if she were to win the Poker Classic, she'd be paying off the mortgage and starting a bankroll so she could give poker a real shot!
