One of the APL South West's most popular players has managed to qualified for his 3rd Major Event in just 3 years!
Romeo Cruz first started playing APL poker in 2006 and lists playing at APL's "Venue of the Year" Cabra Vale Diggers as his favourite event because of the large crowd it draws and the $500 prize pool on offer every game!
Romeo loves the people he meets at his local APL games - a vast mix in nationality and culture - and people from so many different backgrounds and walks of life!
Romeo has made a lot of new friends at poker and is very well respected throughout the league. He claims his love for the APL stems from its consitency, the professional manner in which it is run and the entertainment it provides.
The Cruz family consisting of wife Delores and daughter Madeline are a big part of the South West family and are often seen at games throughout the week.
Romeo loves the APL as it gives him more opportunities to progress to bigger and better tournaments - and he has proven he can handle the pressure at these big ticket events, so look out!
Romeo qualified for the 2007 TOC and came 12th collecting $8000. In 2008 he again qualified for the TOC where he finished a very respectable 23rd out of 1000+ players - a feat worth $3000.
He has just recently achieved the trifecta by qualifying for the 2008 WT Poker Classic where his goal is to win a seat into Team APL and achieve his ambition of playing in Vegas.
Everybody in the South West would like to wish Romeo all the best at the WT Poker Classic!
