Congratulations to Suzy Khoueis (NSW) who managed to take out our POTM competition for September. Suzy, also known as the 'Guru', is 40 years young and the proud mother of 8 children. Suzy has played her APL Poker in the Inner West and idolises Gus Hansen.
Her favourite hand is Q9 for no particular reason, and she enjoys playing with friends at Marylands Leagues. Suzy has won herself a ticket into the WTPC and couldnt be more excited about participating after being knocked out of this year's TOC a little earlier than she would have liked. Suzy plans to spend part of her $8625 payout for POTM on a family trip to QLD.
Suzy also won POTW for September Week 3, and after finishing second in Sunday's NSW Pro Open Final she has now earned 3 tickets into the WTPC in as many weeks.
But Suzy's story isn't where our tale of APL Superstardom ends.
Congratulations to Aaron 'Jerry' Jenkyns (NSW) from City Outer West region for taking out POTW for September Week 4.
'Jerry' is 24 and has been playing with us since September 2006.
I guess you could say that Jerry has done 'OK' these past few months with a string of accomplishments to his name:
-5th in July POTM ($1500)
-1st in Aug POTM ($8625 + WTPC Seat)
-7th in Sep POTM ($1000)
-POTW Sep WK 4 (WTPC Seat)
-Currently winning POTY by over 1000 points.
Jerry has cleaned up almost $14,000 in cash and prizes from APL promotions over the past 3 months alone and is currently a favourite to take out the $50,000 package at the end of our POTY rainbow.
Keep your eye on him!
Congratulations to Skye Jones from South Australia who plays in Mount Barker on becoming our POTW for OCT WK 4!
This is a fantastic result from Skye who started playing Poker just 6 months ago after being convinced by her daughter and her boyfriend (both regular players) to 'give it a go'.
The 47 year old card shark loves the game and is extremely excited about playing in the WTPC, hoping her beloved pocket 2's will take her to yet another tournament win.
Skye finished the SA FullTiltPoker.Org State Finals in 28th place over the weekend and cannot wait for another chance to play at such a high level.
If she walked away from the WTPC with some serious cash, she'll be putting it towards a new house - and just to show how serious she really is, Skye intends to head down to Crown in the near future to get familiar with her surroundings...
