The 12th April was a sunny and fine day in Launceston for the its first ever APL Rhino's State Champs. Player numbers had APL Tournament Directors heading back to the APL trailer to set up more tables to fit in all 186 players! This turn out was just 3 off the all time Tassie record.
The TRC Hotel had everything a player could ever want, even supplying a breakfast special for the players.
The event was underway spot on time.
By the first break we still had over 120 players hustling for chips and at this stage of the game Simon Fitzgerald was the chip leader.
By mid afternoon we where down to 30 and all the players left were able to celebrate this achievement by being awarded a bottle of Wild Turkey and a poker chip set each - all courtesy of our great sponsor Wild Turkey!
We were soon down to the final 16, at which point the Rhino's Raffle for the Rhino's Fridge was drawn and awarded to our previous chip leader, Fitzy!
