What better way to beat the heat than to head to the wonderful and cool surrounds of the Poker Mecca at Crown. After 5 days of plus 40 degree days 166 of APL's most determined lined up to register for the third leg of the Vic Pro Open and get play under way at 10am
It was hot outside but the heat inside went stride for stride with the temperature gauge as the Poker Pack went about their trade in pursuit of one of the 12 WTPC seats on offer. The most by the way ever given away at a Victorian event and an added WOW factor to the days proceedings.
Play was steady and deliberate from the get go and this event was creating its own special atmosphere by itself. 12 Days out from the APL's marquee event and these punters, each and every on of them was determined to be at the big dance. Lowly they busted, despair on the faces of some and resignation on others….."where can I win another ticket" was a common question to our erstwhile APL rep.
Play continued in this event right through until 240pm when Matthew, Crowns Poker Manager through the blanket over the remaining 12 and congratulations, screams of relief and a dozen happy and in some cases confused looks spread around the room.
Well done and good luck to Bart Ruyter, Michael Holmes, Bill Kritikos, Glenn Eismontas, Paul Collins, Paul Philippidis, Bob Peters, Mark Walsh, Boris Shapiro, Matthew Zeniou, Michael Vukovic and Steven Luton who made his way down from Bendigo for the day.
What a great success this series was and well supported by our franchisees and players. A special congratulations to Nick and Malcolm from the VWN/VYR region who supplied no less than 5 winners on the day. Great stuff guys and now lets hope that among the growing list of Victorians at the WTPC there is a winner.
